*HYMN

“Rejoice, the Lord Is King”

Charles Wesley / John Darwall

Rejoice, the Lord is King!
your Lord and King adore;

Rejoice, give thanks and sing,
and triumph evermore.

Lift up your heart, lift up your voice;

Rejoice; again I say, rejoice.

Jesus the Savior reigns,
the God of truth and love;

When he had purged our stains,
He took his seat above.

Lift up your heart, lift up your voice;

Rejoice; again I say, rejoice.

His kingdom cannot fail;
He rules o’er earth and heaven;

The keys of earth and hell
are to our Jesus given.

Lift up your heart, lift up your voice;
Rejoice; again I say, rejoice.

Rejoice in glorious hope!
Jesus the Judge shall come,

And take His servants up
To their eternal home.

We soon shall hear
th’archangel’s voice;

The trump of God
shall sound, rejoice!

*APOSTLES’ CREED

I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; the third day He arose from the dead;
He ascended into heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.   Amen

*HYMN

“In the Cross of Christ I Glory”

Bowring / Conkey

In the cross of Christ I glory,

towering o’er the wrecks of time;

All the light of sacred story

gathers round its head sublime.

When the woes of life o’ertake me,

Hopes deceive, and fears annoy,

Never shall the cross forsake me.

Lo! It glows with peace and joy.

When the sun of bliss is beaming

Light and love upon my way,

From the cross the radiance streaming

Adds more luster to the day.

Bane and blessing, pain and pleasure,

By the cross are sanctified;

Peace is there that knows no measure,

Joys that through all time abide.

In the cross of Christ I glory,

Towering o’er the wrecks of time;

All the light of sacred story

Gathers round its head sublime.

ANTHEM

“Coronation”

Craig Courtney

Crown Him, the King of Kings, the Lord of Lords, the Prince of Peace.

Crown Him, the One who died, and rose again,
to live forever more.

Crown Him, the Bread of Life,
Bright and Morning Star,

He holds the keys of death,
He holds the keys of hell,

He is the ruler of the kings of earth.
Crown Him, behold your King.

Crown Him, the King of Kings,

the Lord of Lords, the Prince of Peace.

Crown Him, the One who died,
who rose again, to live forever more.

Crown Him, the Bread of Life,
high and holy Priest,

Bright and Morning Star,

He holds the keys of death,
He holds the keys of hell,

He is the ruler of the kings of earth.
Crown Him, behold your King.

See Him, coming with the clouds,

Every eye shall see Him whom they have pierced.

See Him, who is the first, and is the last,
Alpha and Omega.

He is the Living One, He who is and was,
and is to come.

He has loved us unto death.
He has freed us by His blood.

He is the mighty Son of God. Crown Him,
behold your King.

Behold Him! Behold your King!

Behold the Lord of Lords, and King of kings.

Crown Him!

*CLOSING HYMN

“Thine Be the Glory”

E.L. Budry translated R.B. Hoyle /
G.F. Handel

Thine be the glory,
risen, conquering Son;

Endless is the victory
thou o’er death hast won.

Angels in bright raiment
rolled the stone away,

Kept the folded grave clothes
where thy body lay.

Thine be the glory,
risen, conquering Son;

Endless is the victory
thou o’er death hast won.

Lo! Jesus meets thee,
risen from the tomb;

Lovingly he greets thee,
scatters fear and gloom.

Let the church with gladness
hymns of triumph sing,

For our Lord now liveth;
death hath lost its sting.

Thine be the glory,
risen, conquering Son;

Endless is the victory
thou o’er death hast won.

No more we doubt thee,
glorious Prince of life!

Life is naught without thee;
aid us in our strife.

Make us more than conquerors,
through thy deathless love;

Bring us safe through Jordan
to thy home above.

Thine be the glory,
risen, conquering Son;

Endless is the victory
thou o’er death hast won.
